Sven Smirnoff is a Russian immigrant, not that he's been affected by that in any way. At least from what he can remember much of. Only in the form of his genetics and a slight, and I mean slight, accent. His two perfectly loving parents and his, well, not so perfectly loving grandfather migrated from the remote village of Kalach in the snowy depths of the Sverdlovsk Oblast when Sven was 8 and a half years old.
He misses it sometimes, other times he does not. California is...different, to say the least, but to him it is home. Ferndale is all he's known for the past 9 years. He's made friends, lost some as people do, found love (or so he thought). After that short run in with what he thought would last forever (it lasted a wonderful and infamous 2 months) its unlikely he will be coming to find joy in anyone but himself for the next few years. To him, love is meant for when you've figured yourself and your life out, he has yet to do either.
