"Where is it?" I asked abruptly standing up out of the chair.

"In London" Reed replied.

"We better get going then" I said to my brother.

"We'll be back soon Johnny" Sue said to her brother.

"Oh come on seriously are you just leaving me here" Johnny complained.

"You can't fight an alien with a broken leg" Reed said.

"Don't forget your bruised spine" I snickered.

"You can hold down the fort" Sue said.

"Yeah great" Johnny muttered.

"Let's get going Y/n grab what you need from the weaponry" Reed said.

Reed, Sue and Ben jogged out of the room heading up to the roof to hop in the jet. I went to leave but I felt a grip on my arm. I turned around to face Johnny.

"I'm not there to protect you this time
Y/n" Johnny sighed.

His head hung down, he was serious unlike his usual self.

"Johnny" I said softly.

"Don't die on me" He said offering me a weak smile.

"Wouldn't dare, Johnny" I said smiling back.

"Now go the teams waiting for you" He said letting go of my arm.

"Bye Johnny" I said.

"Goodluck Y/n" Johnny said.

I ran out of the room grabbing two "lightning rods" as I liked to call them. Reed and I invented them on one of our days off. They were two batons which light up with electricity stunning the attacker before you can hit them. I also slipped two pocket knives onto my holster along with a gun just in case before running up to board the jet.

"What took you so long?" My brother asked flicking a few switches to start the engine.

"Got a little held back" I replied taking a seat next to Ben.

"Johnny wanted to talk to you didn't he" Ben whispered teasingly in my arm.

"Shut up" I said through gritted teeth.

"I'm not wrong though" Ben said nudging his rocky elbow on my side.

"No" I mumbled annoyed that he was right.

"I bet he was all like be careful Y/n I can't protect you so be careful" Ben said doing his best to mimic Johnny's voice.

"That was suprisingly accurate" I said facing him not bothering to deny it.

"I know the kid well" Ben replied crossing his arms.

Ben and Johnny always bickered and argued but they loved eachother like brothers.

"Does everybody know what the stakes of this mission is?" Reed said glancing over his shoulder.

We all nodded before my older brother continued his little pre battle speech.

"If we don't win this battle the world will end, I said it would end in a year but that thing made it pretty clear he wants to end it sooner. The fate of everyone's lives it at stake" Reed said, my stomach bubbled with anxiety.

"We have to win people are counting on us" Reed said gripping the steering wheel his knuckles turning white.

"We've got this Reed" Ben assured my brother.

"We better because I'm not sure what I'm going to do if we fail" Reed sighed.

"Reed" Sue said softly rubbing his shoulders.

"I bet you wish Johnny was here to rub your shoulders to calm you down" Ben said a little too loudly to me.

"Ben shut up" I said slapping him instantly regretting it as my hand hit the hard rock.

"Wait what" Sue said spinning around.

"Y/n likes Johnny" Ben laughed loudly.

"Fuck you Ben" I said hiding my face in my hands.

"Oh come on that's old news. It's pretty obvious" Sue smirked.

"Excellent" I huffed.

"Are you sure you like Johnny I mean he is well Johnny" Reed said awkwardly clearly uncomfortable on the topic.

"Yes I do ok can we just drop this" I said.

"If we survive this you're asking him out" Ben said.

I rolled my eyes at Ben and looked out the window watching the land below. Thankfully the jet was enhanced and could fly at ridiculous speeds so we'd be there in no time.

We arrived in London landing on one of the streets by the thames river. We climbed out of the jet greeted by the US and UK military which Reed had notified of the situation. The whole city was evacuated and it was quiet and eerie except for the wind which made a howl as it passed through buildings.

"General" My brother shook the hands of the military.

"Richards" the woman replied.

"Do what you have to do and don't screw this up" The lady said in a piercing tone which would make anybody quiver.

"Understood" Reed replied his voice slightly shaky.

The militia drove away to the perimeter leaving us alone.

"So what do we do?" Sue asked turning to face Reed.

"We draw it out" Reed replied.

"And how the hell do we do that" I asked.

I heard Ben shout, I turned around to see him slam the ground sending a shockwave through the ground. Suddenly the alien emerged out of the water an angry look on its face.

"Well that works" I said quietly.

"Come to stop me again mortals" The alien said sounding overly confident.

"We kind of have to" Reed replied.

"Well good luck" The thing replied shooting an energy beam at us.

Sue stopped it with her force field before firing it back at the alien. The blue alien flew back hitting into a building smashing the windows of the skyscraper.

"Nice shot" Ben said.

The alien screamed something and flew at us joining us down on the ground. I pulled out my two lightning batons gritting my teeth clenching my fists around the handle, knuckles turning white.

"It's on" I said.
