Prologue Lunar never really thought about the hunger games as a kid. They were on in the background of her whole childhood, but she never payed them much attention. In District 5 the games were not made a big skeptical. 5 rarely had victors and when they did have them they won by luck. The minute she turned 12 though her whole life became about them. Her brother Bellamy began training her to wield weapons, a skill he had learned from one of the victors he was friends with, Lunar slowly became an incredibly strong and great fighter and by the time she was 14 she believed she could truly go into the games and come out alive. What she failed to realize was that the games follow you forever whether you want them to or not.

Flaire has Finnick and she is finally happy, but sometimes the past becomes too much to handle. How will they deal with this new step in their lives? What if there are darker forces out there?

I thought it would be hard to see him suffer at the hands of the other tributes in the arena. I never thought it would be even harder seeing the other tributes suffer at his hand. The Capitol turned him into a monster. Even when he returned to District 4, he was never himself. There were always glimmers of the old Finnick, but they never lasted long. Finnick made me realize that even if you win The Hunger Games, you don't actually win. You are still stuck with all of the horrors you witnessed in the arena. Horrors that I thought I would never have to endure. Boy did I have another thing coming.
