It's summer break and the kids of East High are out for some fun in the sun. Unfortunately, they are all broke except Sam and Cat who try to help their friends get jobs in order to be able to afford to enjoy themselves. What happened after High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Twins Aaliyah and Lisa were separated at only a few months when their parents, Ryan and Taylor, divorced and lived different lives. After sixteen years, they are reunited when they were unknowingly sent to the same camp where they decide to switch places as a ploy to get Ryan and Taylor back together.
