In Ashra, boys vanish in the night. No one talks about it. No one fights it. Except Leya. For four years, she has lived in the shadows, rescuing stolen children from the Commander's camps and leading them back to their families. Armed with daggers and stubborn hope, she has made herself into a weapon against the city that took her brother. But the Commander has a weapon too. Riven Ashford. The Dark Guard. The masked enforcer who never hesitates. Until one night, he does. When Leya comes face to face with the man hunting her, something fractures between them. A pause. A look. A choice not to strike. And suddenly the war between them is no longer just about rescue missions and rebellion. It is about truth. About what was stolen. And about whether a guard can ever stop being a weapon. In a city built on obedience, defiance is dangerous. And connection may be the deadliest risk of all.

Power was never the problem. Control was. In a fractured, dystopian Nigeria, the elite Uppers rule with iron fists and marble halls, while the Lowers and Rejects survive on scraps-and silence. A government-issued drug called Nullisyn keeps the population obedient, suppressing superhuman abilities before they can awaken. Michael is just another Reject trying to stay invisible. Haunted by a brutal past and bound to a daily dose of lies, he lives for one thing only: keeping his crew alive. But when a single act of defiance exposes the truth behind Nullisyn, everything changes. As dormant powers awaken and the State tightens its grip, Michael and his friends are forced into a rebellion they never planned-against a regime led by Supreme Leader Jide, the architect of the system... and the monster tied to Michael's deepest scars. What begins as survival becomes revolution. From the slums to the shattered gates of Abuja, Rise of the Rejects is a story of power, sacrifice, found family, and the question that could burn a nation to the ground: Can those cast aside by society rise high enough to change it?

"6,000 Guys like you", the 8th volume in my series The Right People, centers on the planning and execution of a staged hijacking to secure of the escape from Germany of the surviving Palestinian perpetrators of the Munich Olympic Games attack ahead of the 1972 federal elections. To accomplish this, Tom and his friends travel to Syria, Libya and Egypt, where they negotiate with representatives the Libyan government and the Palestinians over the terms of the prisoners' release. Back in Germany, at the German Ministry of Defense on the Hardthöhe in Bonn, they witness the dramatic events during and immediately after the hijacking of the Lufthansa Boeing 727 Kiel. Along the way, two of Tom's friends, Hamit and Phil, encounter a pair of street musicians in Ireland who prove to be IRA couriers, as well as an ambitious figure determined to become the world's largest hashish dealer. The months portrayed in this volume are marked by tension, intrigue, and escalating stakes. Although the novel is grounded in extensive research into the historical context, it is a work of fiction. All characters, including public officials mentioned, as well as the events depicted, are entirely fictional. New chapters are published every Friday. The cover photo depicts the German war memorial in Tobruk/Libya

I should be in my room, I told myself. Or at least somewhere familiar. . . Word reached the inner hall within moments. "Sona has returned." . . "Struggling won't break it." "Then you don't know who you've tied," she shot back. "And that's your mistake." . . "You think this is about safety?" she demanded. "This is about possession." . . . She held his gaze, "And what feels out of place about me?" "Nothing," he said after a moment. "That's what makes it noticeable." For the first time, she smiled-small, controlled. "My name is Kirti." . . . "Since I'm clearly being discussed-I am Shri." . . "He told me to pack my bags," Shri said. "Said I was late." "I asked him why," Shri went on. "He said, 'Because if you don't leave now, you'll miss her.'"

In the occupied city of Antel, survival is measured in silence, candlelight, and the distance between one checkpoint and the next. For three years, Eldora has been burning under Luskan rule. Max has learned to move through the ruins like a shadow, carrying messages for the resistance and believing that love, like freedom, is something worth risking everything for. Her sister Natalie believes in quieter things: locked doors, lowered voices, staying alive. But when three Luskan commanders take over their family home, the war outside is no longer separate from the life inside. Max is pulled deeper into the resistance, while Natalie finds herself drawn to the one man she should hate most. In a town where loyalty can save you or destroy you, two sisters must decide what matters more: the people they love, the country they belong to, or the truths they are willing to betray.

In the silk-producing valleys of the Kingdom of Naples, Renza, the daughter of a respected silk merchant, has been raised within the careful order of family and tradition. Lucien arrives as a restless outsider, marked by a past he cannot escape. Around them move others bound by secrecy and survival, including a spy for the Inquisition trained to live between two worlds. As tensions deepen and suspicion spreads through Silk County, their lives draw toward a tragic event history has nearly erased. Echoing the ancient myth of Galatea and Acis in a 16th century setting, Silk County explores how love endures in fragile and often dangerous spaces, where even the most delicate threads can bind souls across time. #ONC2026 contest. Story is complete. Prompts: #16 - Into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul. And a slightly modified version of #104 - while wandering through the woods, you dismiss the rustling behind you as nothing more than the wind through the trees until you turn around realize it isn't wind at all. Content Note: This story contains references to non-graphic sexual situations. It also draws on historical accounts of the Inquisition, including themes of religious persecution and some chapters contain acts of violence. While these elements, as well as 16th century attitudes toward women, are handled with care, they reflect the realities of the period and may be difficult for some readers. They do not reflect this author's viewpoint.

For nearly a thousand years, we have been here. No banners. No armies. No seat of power that any living person could point to on a map. Only vaults hidden in forgotten places, ciphers written in languages the world believes are dead, and the quiet, stubborn conviction that truth does not disappear simply because the powerful wish it would. We are the Society of Truth. And we have been watching longer than the Council has been lying. Founded in secret by goblin archivists and orc scholars in an age when history was already beginning to be rewritten, we have spent centuries doing what no one else would. Preserving the records of the defeated. Smuggling artifacts out of war zones. Hiding copies of documents before they could be altered. Teaching true names in secret to keep them alive for one more generation. We did not fight the Council with swords. We fought them with memory. This is our archive. These Vault Records are the preserved testimonies, histories, and documents of the Society of Truth. Recovered from the vaults we built in the bones of the world, for the seekers of truth who would come looking for what was lost. Some of what you find here will be difficult to read. It was difficult to live. But it happened. And that means it deserves to be remembered. For the truth is never gone, only buried.
