'We will fall, but we will get back up again.'

---

It's been ninty-seven years since a nuclear apocalypse killed everyone one earth, leaving the planet simmering in radiation. Fortunately, there were survivors at the time of the bombs. There is now only the Ark, one station forged from the many. They were told the Earth needed another hundred years to become survivable again and man could come home, back to the ground.

On the Ark, every crime, no matter how small, is punishable by death-- unless you're under eighteen, which was in the favor of the seventeen year old Scarlett Griffin, who was locked up for committing an unforgivable crime.

When she get sent to Earth with ninety-nine other criminals, she's finally able to see her sister and old friends once again. Along the many new faces she meets, one caught her eyes rather quickly and she could feel herself slowly fall for him.

BOOK I: The Reasons - the ground is unforgiving. So is survival. Madison Cameron was born in space, a child of the Ark, never feeling the sun on her skin or breathing the fresh, unfiltered air of Earth. She's never experienced the sensation of water, the way it would flow against her or lap around her as she swam. For three generations, humanity has clung to the Ark, floating in the cold vacuum of space, its fragile walls the only barrier between them and extinction. The Ark was all they knew-sterile, artificial, far from the dangers and beauty of Earth below. But now, the Ark is dying. It can't sustain them much longer. They are the last hope of mankind, a fragile chance for survival. The Earth they land on, however, is nothing like they imagined. It's not a fresh start or paradise - it's a nightmare. The air is toxic, wildlife monstrous, and every step is a battle for survival. The Earth is alive, but it's unforgiving. Amidst this chaos, Madison and Bellamy Blake find themselves at the forefront, taking on the roles of leaders. Both carry the heavy weight of responsibility, knowing that the survival of the remaining human race rests in their hands. They both strive to protect their people, to do whatever it takes to ensure their survival. But where Madison is focused on the harsh reality of survival-pragmatic, calculating, determined to keep them alive - Bellamy's vision is driven by something more abstract: freedom. They clash over their ideals - her need for structure, his thirst for freedom - and every time their paths cross, the tension between them makes their already perilous situation even more volatile. Yet, the Earth continues to test them. It doesn't care about their petty squabbles or their hopes for a better future. The planet doesn't care about Madison's desire for control or Bellamy's lust for freedom. It only cares about one thing: survival. "It's like a hurricane; therefore you can't stop it, you endure it." In a post - apocalyptic world, thousands of those apart of the human race continue to reside in a space station called The Ark. A place where several different countries came together to create a place where they can all live in peace until Earth is a safe place to live in once again. With oxygen supply running short, possibly gone within the next four months, there was only one thing left to do; send 100 convicts under the age of eighteen down to the dangerous terrain that is planet Earth. Almost everyone aboard The Ark knew about the tale of Octavia Blake, the girl who lived under the floorboards for around sixteen years, but her story pales in comparrison to Olivia Ross', the girl who was ripped away from her family the moment she was born. All because she was a twin. It was against the law to have more than one child on The Ark due to supplies available, but after a misdiagnosis, Liv's mother had twins rather than just the expected son. This immediately resulting in her jail sentence. Except when Liv finds herself two weeks away from reaching the dreaded age of eighteen, she's soon casted down to Earth along with ninety nine others just like herself. Liv knew that this journey would be dangerous, but she never expected to see the one person she had desired to meet most; her twin brother. [season one] [book one of the olivia ross series]

-BOOK ONE- They were born in the stars, children of a dying world, their lives bound by cold steel and thinning air. The Ark was their cradle, their prison, their home- until it wasn't. Now, Skye Rylan falls. Plummeting from the heavens in a metal coffin, she crashes into a world long abandoned, a world that was never meant to be hers. Earth is raw, untamed, alive in ways space never was. But survival is not a gift- it's a war. The ground is ruthless, the sky is silent, and the past does not stay buried. Skye knows this better than anyone. The weight of lost stars still lingers in her bones, in the jagged edges of her trust, in the ghosts she carries. And when blood stains the soil and alliances fracture like shattered constellations, she must decide: Will she burn out, or will she rise? Because down here, the stars do not guide them. They make their own light- or they are swallowed by the dark.
