Anna has always stuck to the background, blending in wherever she goes. She doesn't stand out and has always thought of that as a flaw in her personality. Until the day comes when this flaw is what will keep her alive and untouched by the strange new controllers in our world. Soon Anna is caught in a society that is driven for one purpose. Anna has no idea what that purpose is and thinking she is the last uncontrolled human, she settles into her daily routine. Trying so hard not to stand out, Anna may just lose her last chance for human connection and in that, salvation. Eric misses everything about his old life, his paint set, his music and books, and even his annoying little brother Mark. He is not sure why the chip in his brain and the corresponding biochemical coursing through his veins don't seem to have effected him, but he is grateful for every moment he gets to maintain his own thoughts and feelings. Eric knows there are more like him and he is determined to find a way to escape this life with his brother and anyone he can find not being controlled like him. Each move he makes is carefully monitored and with each new attempt to reach out to his fellow survivors, Eric is that much closer to discovery.
