Hope, a female snow leopard, runs through the snow, her feet sending white particles into the cold air. It is morning for her and her cubs. The two cubs stay in the den, waiting for their mother to bring back a nice lunch before they descend into a deep sleep. While she's running her eye catches a small brown blob in the distance. As the snow leopard inches closer, she makes out the image to be a small game bird. Hope sets her legs back like the springs on a slinky closing back together, getting ready to launch down the stairs. She puts her feet in the snow and lunges forward with the bird in her direct view. The young feline misses the bird and it flies away, spooked by the fact it was almost cat food. While she struggles to catch prey for not only herself, but her family as well, the spotted kittens with bushy tails await their mother's appearance. After an hour of hunting and many failed attempts, Hope comes into contact with a goat grazing on a patch of grass between two rocks. She managed to get the goat in her grasp without it fleeing. With luck she feeds her children another night. All is fine, however, the nights are getting colder, and the days are getting shorter.
