Description: A drunken night, a rushed marriage and unfortunate circumstances draw Celeste and Vincent together. A lawyer and a former waitress, Celeste packs up everything she owns when she agrees to marry Vincent the same night she meets him. He's well established, offering to provide for her in exchange for a suitable companion, a wife and mother to his future children. An arrangement that once sounded like sugar to her ears turns into a nightmare right before her very eyes as their relationship progresses. Vincent is a cruel man, and Celeste learns far too late that it's next to impossible to shape him into the perfect husband. Teaser: His jaw is tight, stiff as he smokes out of the window, at least courteous enough not to blow it in her face. When they arrive at the courthouse, he doesn't get out right away, and he doesn't turn off the car either. But he does at least look at her finally, and she feels vulnerable so close under his gaze. "There's no room for cold feet, Celeste." He says, taking one final drag from his cigarette before tossing the butt out of the open window. "Don't embarrass me." Was he this cold last night as well? She can't help but think. Am I that desperate?
