Shante Harding, a 17 y/o Junior in High school, tries her best to endure her new life in Texas due to she and her mother's move following her father's divorce from her mother. Everything in this new state is so different from her old home in West Memphis, Arkansas, but she knows that to keep her mother happy, she must pretend to be the same. As time goes on, some things just don't add up in this new world of hers. Why is her mother remarrying so soon? Why is her new stepdad so shady? Where did her father go? Most of all... why is her mother lying to her about it all? Can she trust anybody? Who isn't lying to her? Is her boyfriend really what he seems? What about her mom's new man, who is he? Can Shante unravel the real mystery of her life while pretending to be an average girl who doesn't know she's being lied to, or will the stress of it all overcome her? As the old saying goes, "the truth will set free", but that may not be the case for Shante.
