Following the death of both her brothers, Camila Ríos feels suffocated in her own house, hunted by the memories of her dead brothers. She is unable to sleep and she barely eats. Eventually, it isn't long before she develops a severe case of depression. Her parents, who are also swallowed by their own grief, don't notice that. Thankfully, her uncle is aware of the family's broken dynamic and offers her to stay with him and her grandparents back in Korea. After a huge fight with them, Camila finally gets her parents to agree to her moving to Korea for a year. In Korea, Camila is finally able to experience her mother's native culture and what's it like to be a high schooler there. Things get better for her when she's finally able to meet her online friend, Sun-Mi. However, she immediately gets disheartened when she discovered that her friend is a cancer patient. Not to mention, Kan Se-Yeon, the popular boy in her year who she had a bad first meeting with, is Sun-Mi's boyfriend.
