On everyone's 17th birthday their soulmate bond "the string" is activated.  This means that from your 17th birthday you can communicate with your soulmate through drawings and doodles on your hand.  

Luka Coffaine could care less about this rule.   Marinette Dupain-Cheng however cares the most.
She is determined and knows for a fact that on her wrist will be the writing of her boyfriend Adrien.  But after her seventeenth birthday- things don't go as she would've hoped.

Once secrets unravel, both absolutely repulse the idea of being with one another.  They start to ignore each other and continue on with their everyday lives, but fate has a weird way of bringing people together.  And it all starts at a Jagged Stone concert after Marinette's seventeenth birthday.

In this story, there is no magic, Chat Noir and Ladybug, as well as other characters, are in this story but they're not displayed with the miraculous/magic or akumatizations or anything like that. There is some adrienette, ladrien and ladynoir throughout this story but I have included a tiny bit of lukanette and adrigami in there too (sorry if you don't like those ships, I don't either, to be honest, but those relationships add a little more random detail to the storyline so why not). Characters aren't made by me - a fanfiction based on the show Miraculous Ladybug.
