"You really don't want to do that." He growled, noticing out of the corner of his eye that amidst all the commotion the person he despised most in the world was getting ready to cast a spell on him. Another spell. She had turned him into a monster, his rage and resentment for her grew every second, his only goal to get rid of her and everything she cared about. Blinded by rage he actively sought to destroy her, she was the embodiment of everything he deemed worthless and grotesque. Even the sight of her made his blood boil. How could he possibly have ever loved her? Her hands trembled at his voice, one that used to comfort her and make her feel at home, she forgot about the spell she was trying to cast. Her eyes flooded with tears upon hearing him speak. How could she have done this to him? How was she supposed to undo it? A spell she cast so long ago she barely remembered what it was, but he wouldn't let her forget. She spent years trying to figure out a way to help him, knowing he would kill her as soon as she got close enough to try. She just wanted to help, why couldn't he see that? Her mistakes were just that, mistakes. How could he possibly forget how much she loved him? Prequel of "The Secrets of Charis" another book I'm in the process of writing. Each chapter will revolve around a character from the book and their past :)
