"Choosing is obsolete. The real beauty in the world is how simple life can be if we let them show us the way." Allesandra is a normal teenager in the Nation. She says all the right things, follows all the right protocols, and lets the government run her life. But what no one can know about her is that she has never been normal, only very good at pretending. She is different and when a government can tell you from the moment your born how many children you'll have, what your job will be, even who you'll marry, differences tend to be controlled. When the day finally comes for the Nation to reveal the results of her SPTs- the system that tells the entire country how to live their lives- she realizes just how extreme those differences are. She is thrown into a new world where the end result could be fatal. As she meets people who share her ideas she embarks on the journey of a lifetime to finally uncover the secrets of the Nation and to see if there's any way out.
