When Caitlin Parker was six years old, she declared that she would be a princess. Now an awkward, slightly overweight, sarcastic seventeen year old, she detests the word, the color pink, and especially the Prince Charming that comes along with being one. So when her best friend "accidentally" signs her up to compete in the Miss Parkersburg Beauty Pageant - an annual event for her town that promotes women to be seen as Barbie dolls- she reluctantly accepts the challenge, hoping to get through the competition with as little attention as possible. But things seem to never go her way, as it turns out that one of the judges just so happens to be Oliver Freeman, the epitome of golden boys, and the guy that she has hated with a fiery passion since childhood. And it also doesn't help that there's an undeniable chemistry between the two of them.
