When David Moss is rejected by his family after he tells them he is gay, he enlists himself in the military to help defeat a terrorist group in Vietnam known as "The BRIDs". At war, David meets fellow soldier Ian Hecox, who David discovers to be gay as well. When the two become captured by the troubled terrorists, they discover how much they feel towards each other and try together to get out alive. David's struggle to reconnect with his parents leaves him distraught and he soon realizes that it isn't them that he needs, it's Ian. As the two struggle to stay alive and keep a steady relationship they realize the true meaning of love and war. "You don't need to fight a war just to feel safe with the one you love. And I shouldn't have to fight for your approval just to feel comfortable being with the one I love"
