"With the ground shaking, knocking us off our feet, loose items crashing against the tiles, cracks spidering through windows before shattering them, and the screams of eight small children, we were introduced to our new life. Earth's surface gave a deafening bellow, cracking itself, and our lives wide open. The world above it was sucked into the chasm that advanced towards our minuscular elementary school. The ground's convulsions grew stronger as the life-devouring hole inched its way closer to us. With a moan of defeat, the north wall of the building collapsed into a pile of dust. Not able to stand on our feet, we strained our necks to see above the rubble to be confronted by images only ever seen in our childish nightmares."
