November 17th, 1915 World War I. She can't even go outside without worrying about the tactical bombings that occurred weekly, killing off her beloved neighbors and friends in only seconds, their screams branded in her memory forever. It was a shock she was still alive, escaping with only bruises on her arms and a small scar by her left ear, rendering her deaf on one side. Now, one year into the war she's fleeing from her home in Venice, Italy, running through towns and countries, avoiding battles to reach the large port of Liverpool, England. She will make it to America, away from the major battles, And hopefully she'll survive.
