At a young age Violet Sky saw the hanging of King Sebastian. A man who made the lives of the poor workers better, if only slightly and planned to make it better. His crime that the Queen accused him of was false and everyone knew it. After his death, the poor became angry and defenseless. No one was allowed to speak against the Royalty or was given death, stealing equaled death, looking at the guards the wrong way resulted in a beating, and no one could pay for food let alone taxes. The outer ring where all of the workers lived was in chaos. Violet works day in and day out for her family. She can occasionally get away with some stolen goods, but was almost killed multiple times. Brother turns on brother, the people are constantly in fear. It's survival of the fittest. Rumors have begun to spread. Rumors of a rebellion. Some people see this as hope, a chance for a better life. Others fear that it will only make matters worse. Violet isn't particularly interested in the rumors. There is no point in false hope. That is until she runs into Connor. A short tempered guy who almost gets Violet killed. Connor says he is a part of this so called rebellion, but Violet wants to part. It would endanger her family and she wouldn't risk it, so she denies Connor's recruiting efforts. That all might change when those closest to her die and she can do nothing to stop it. It may just be time to fight back.
