Adele would be lying if she said her marriage was happy, but to say she wanted Max dead, well that was a whole different level of unhappy. When Max dies on their living room floor late one night and Adele is accused of murder, she knows she's in trouble. She knows there's enough evidence of arguments and threats from both of them to fill a court trial, most disturbingly though, she knows Max's father will stop at nothing to see her in jail and her daughter living with him. Slowly Adele's life begins to unravel as she tries desperately to hang on to the scattered pieces that are left. If she wants to stay out of jail and keep her daughter with her she is going to have to delve into a past she thought she'd left behind. She's going to have to find answers to questions she's never wanted to ask. Sometimes our past shapes us more than we would like and the only way to move forward is to go back and gently, carefully untie the knots.
