Ben Aimes finds more than he bargains for when he tracks an evasive drug dealer, Joseph Loretto, to Sandview, California. He's finally close, after 6 years of searching, and it's time for Loretto to be brought to justice. The long search for Loretto has left Ben painfully empty, with no desire to open up, but as he spends more time in Sandview, mysterious Ella Stein catches his eye and begins to piece together parts of him that Joseph Loretto tore apart years ago. Ella's in deep with some troubles of her own, and she's running scared. Ben knows that keeping Ella away from him and his dangerous baggage is the best thing for her, but despite the obligations he has to the ghosts of his past, Ben cannot leave Ella to fend off her own skeletons. When Ben's feelings for Ella grow to be more than professional, will she just become a costly distraction? Or will he be able to face the music and finish the job?
