The main stipulation of the contest was that the entire up-to-2,000-word story had to be written completely in dialogue. I hope you like my entry. Constructive criticism and/or words of encouragement are always welcomed. It's been three and a half weeks without an answer since he proposed, and Balthazar is afraid he may lose Lydia, the only woman he has ever authentically loved, if he's unable to overcome the inability to say "I love you." Balthazar is concerned that his worst fear will be realized when Lydia shows up at his apartment without warning and says, "We need to talk." This short story is 1,999 words.
