The book that I chose to read was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban written by J.K Rowling and the third book in the Harry Potter series. I recommend this book for anyone who has only watched the movies as the books are much better than the movies hands-down.

The book begins with Harry hightailing it out of the house and getting picked up by "the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard." after putting up with lots of rotten treatment from the Dursleys, Harry finally loses his temper and blows up his Aunt Marge. which as the Knight Bus crew said is "the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard." which takes him to Diagon Alley and thus back to the wizarding world. There he meets up with Ron, Hermonie and Hermonie's new companion, Crookshanks who has it out for Scabbers Ron's rat. On the way back to school, some Dementors, the guards of Azkaban, enter the train to look for Sirius Black. Being around the creepy Dementors makes Harry faint. At Hogwarts, Lupin arrives as the awesome new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and Hagrid is the new Care of Magical Creatures teacher. The year progresses and Harry is busy playing Quidditch, Hermione is swamped with her insane course load, Hagrid is eagerly trying to prove that his hippogriff isn't dangerous, and Ron is consumed with worrying about Scabbers.  Meanwhile, everyone is preoccupied with the fear of Sirius Black, who breaks into Hogwarts twice during the school year. The trio also tries to help Hagrid with his eleventh-hour appeal to save Buckbeak, his hippogriff. Hagrid loses the appeal. On the day of Buckbeak's execution, Harry, Ron, and Hermione find Scabbers alive in Hagrid's cabin.
