If a zombie apocalypse were to actually happen, nature would simply take its course and the bodies would decompose to the point they would no longer function therefore ending the Apocalypse. After the apocalypse there would still be quarantine, clean up will be a main priority during this stage. Even after quarantine people would still need to take safety precautions in order to lower the risks of becoming infected, much like the bubonic plague, the breakouts of the virus will then slowly become less common, our immune system growing stronger. Life continues to move forward.
