@4thesakeofluv if there are no tears in the author, there are no tears in the reader; if there is no joy, excitement, fear, anger, etc in the author, the reader will not experience a dash of emotion. A boring story is one that was written by someone who had no passion, no energy, no love for their own story. The best way to make a story engaging is to be engaged with it. If you care about it, the right people will care about it.
