Quite a few authors are splitting things up atm, yes. I am transferring some work , writing on Inkitt as NowTheSword. WP has created a small wave of authors transferring works that had timelines , relevance , context , continuity and /or character insight affected by the new 18 yrs minimum policy. Most of these author’s short stories and books contained intimate scenes that weren’t gratuitous and actually drove the story forward. It’s actually so terrific that at least we have an alternate platform that isn’t only ao3. No hate on ao3 but it’s so much fan fic and personally, I dislike reading on it. I find it reminds me of school book reports. It’s mostly the formatting, like reading a ‘ wall of text’ , which is a shame, actually, because I do believe there are some good writers on there.
Inkitt is actually quite nice . The only thing I don’t like about them is they don’t have the highlight/ comment capability ,off the side of the lines and paragraphs , like WP does. We all like those so much , yeah?
I’ll finish things I have started here on WP, like the next two books in the ‘ One Hearts’ series, and ‘ For All the Right Reasons’ , but I’m going to be active on Inkitt as well. So far, I really like their’ built in’, book cover creation options, and I’m hoping their community hubs are engaging and that some are genre focused. They have ok formatting , I was relieved to see the ‘ black/ white screen option, as I prefer to read white letters on a black background .
I will be sure to follow you there!
