Happy birthday, Ira Rule!

May 14th is the birthday of everyone's favorite Bishop! Tomorrow you'll be seeing him for the first time in a while! I wonder what he's been up to? So to celebrate, let's talk fun facts!

☆ The character who would become Ira was originally called Jasper.

♡ Ira's favorite color is orange.

◇ Ira loves to cook but he's better at baking.

Hm, this guy kinda sounds familiar. I'm curious to see what kinda trouble he's capable of bringing. Maybe we'll see some more of him this Wednesday (5/8) when the Prologue of Ouro2 goes live!

Glossary: Ira

A religious name, one used several times in Abrahamic religion. This name was most commonly given to warriors and means "watchful,"

Ira was a name I picked before deciding to fit all my characters to a religious name scheme. I was really sad to have to change it, but while researching other names I found Melchior. Which was a name I loved so much it led to the creation of Melchior, and during that research I found out that Ira had fit the scheme all along. There were multiple instances of this while researching Ouroboros, times when I wanted something badly and found out that there were ways to realistically support it. Like the Deacons having an apartment, and there being an apartment complex owned by a famous Cathedral. It just felt like fate each step of the way, encouraging me along. We're back! And I'm in Kentucky. A side effect of moving from Michigan to the south. I have one day left of driving, and I'll be excited to see you all on the other side thus Wednesday!

Oooh! So exciting for you! I hope the move goes well and that you land safely and enjoy your new digs. Looking forward to book two, and will see you on both Inkitt and discord.

@Kingsrabbit Thank you! It is very exciting, and very terrifying. I'm just as excited for book two as I am this move! I will follow you back there!

Hello, friends! Anyone else splitting up their preferred writing platform? I have an inkitt, let's follow eachother there, too! It's the same name, asimple-mistake.

@ASimple-Mistake I’m really frustrated about this… It’s not a major issue for my current English story since making the characters a year older doesn’t significantly alter the plot. However, I have a coming-of-age story on my Italian profile where the characters' ages are crucial. I feel like I’m wasting a year of hard work because of this issue, especially since there are no good alternatives in Italian. I’m going to create an Inkitt account right now!

Quite a few authors are splitting things up atm, yes. I am transferring some work , writing on Inkitt as NowTheSword. WP has created a small wave of authors transferring works that had timelines , relevance , context , continuity and /or character insight affected by the new 18 yrs minimum policy. Most of these author’s short stories and books contained intimate scenes that weren’t gratuitous and actually drove the story forward. It’s actually so terrific that at least we have an alternate platform that isn’t only ao3. No hate on ao3 but it’s so much fan fic and personally, I dislike reading on it. I find it reminds me of school book reports. It’s mostly the formatting, like reading a ‘ wall of text’ , which is a shame, actually, because I do believe there are some good writers on there.
Inkitt is actually quite nice . The only thing I don’t like about them is they don’t have the highlight/ comment capability ,off the side of the lines and paragraphs , like WP does. We all like those so much , yeah?
I’ll finish things I have started here on WP, like the next two books in the ‘ One Hearts’ series, and ‘ For All the Right Reasons’ , but I’m going to be active on Inkitt as well. So far, I really like their’ built in’, book cover creation options, and I’m hoping their community hubs are engaging and that some are genre focused. They have ok formatting , I was relieved to see the ‘ black/ white screen option, as I prefer to read white letters on a black background .
I will be sure to follow you there!
