Alex O'Brien

I am the author of two action-packed sports novels, The Comeback (2020) and The Playmaker (2019), published by James Lorimer and Company in their Sports Stories series, which is targeted at reluctant, middle-grade readers and feature characters with diverse backgrounds. 

I have been writing full-time for over twenty-years. To celebrate the year 2000, I followed my dream and took a leave from my career in human resources to write. After an enjoyable and prolific sabbatical, I decided to devote my creative energy to writing permanently and resigned from my administrative position. I have completed many literary novels, plays, and musical books, a collection of short stories, two volumes of poetry, a memoir, over 1000 song lyrics, and close to 200 songs.
