In real life, I'm all about the rainbows and the kittens. In my writing life, I like to kill people. I've met a few romantic novelists who do this the other way round. On balance, I think my choice is healthier.

I'm old enough for reading glasses, come from Oxford and live in London, which is the capital city of an island on the edge of the Arctic circle, and spend a lot of my time considering objects in my house for their lethal potential. In my first thriller, The Wicked Girls (Sphere, 2012), I found a whole new use for the chip fork. In my forthcoming novel, The Killer Next Door, (out in December 2013 as an ebook, as a book-book summer 2014) the ottoman bed in my spare room comes in very handy.

In the summer, I can mainly be found at the Serpentine Lido. In the winter, I can mainly be found in bed.

You can find The Wicked Girls here http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Wicked-Girls-Alex-Marwood/dp/0751547980/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1312143449&sr=1-2 if you like my stuff. The Killer Next Door comes out as an ebook in December 2013.
