Avid reader. Lapsed writer. I got my first laptop when I was 13 specifically to write a book. I almost did, and I published most of what I did write right here, on this page, under the screen name @iheartmycrazyfriends. (Man, 2010 was a time.) Those of you who followed me that long ago will likely remember I Spy (though I sometimes wish I didn't). I hope you will restart this journey with me. I am planning to see it through to the end this time--especially since I'm an adult now, and the parentals can't come along and ruin the fun anymore. ;)

After an 8 year hiatus, and much personal change (Including two degrees, a cross-country move, and a couple of lengthy stays abroad), I'm back. If there is anyone still out there who loved I Spy, thank you. And I'm sorry. That I took it down. That I never finished it. That I left you hanging. I left me hanging, too.

I'm hoping to use this return as a way to get back into my writing. I might start with more of a blog format--just some essays and things that I have thought about writing before, but never got around to. But know that I am working on something bigger, something that I would want to read, I just don't know yet how I am going to share it.

Oh, and I have a friend who thinks trains are a myth and the whistles you hear at night when they pass by are a government conspiracy. I just found that worth mentioning. (This is the only bit of my old description that I'm leaving up, and it is honestly because I just REALLY wish I remembered who this was, back in the day...)

The first piece of the new era is here. I wrote this short story 5 years ago, and I likely wouldn't write it now. Still, there is something about it that pulls me in. I hope that magic reaches you, a...
