As I Enter the Dream Gate: 

I long to live in a world that’s free: 
Where the calm ocean waves to me, 
Where the green grass sways in the breeze, 
Where everything is as it should be. 

On account of my own life thus far, 
I have always wondered what is to come. 
Should all my dreams be guided by the Son, 
I imagine I’ll shoot for the stars. 

Today, I dream of a me so dear: 
A me who’s traveled the world in eighty days, 
Who’s climbed the highest summits in seven ways, 
A me who’s conquered her greatest fear. 

Should my life become seated on a golden throne,
I would have walked upon each and ev’ry stepping stone. 
I would have built from the rubble a house of my own. 
From there, I’d have raised a fam’ly to love and grow  

I step into this inner realm of wonders,
Unlike anything I have ever ventured through. 
I can’t help but think it is too good to be true.
Yet, nothing can silence its roaring thunders. 

I slowly feel a swell in the core of my heart:
Like a match struck coal, releasing embers
That quickly warmed its innermost chambers—
Fueling the life inside of me, never to depart. 

Constantly reminding me of the life to pursue
No matter the obstacle, no matter the pain.
I will embrace every little droplet of rain.
Until the storm passes, I will work to continue. 

Finally, I will reemerge from the depths of this dream, 
But every now and then I hear its voice calling back to me.
When I listen, I know to place my hand where it ought to be. 
Upon my heart, fire that never ceases to gleam.

I am not simply a writer because I choose to do so in my free time. Although true, it doesn't explain my reasons for doing so. I am a writer because I love to tell stories and there is no better way to bring about your ideas than incorporate them into your works.
