@NutsAndBees (Okay Im back sorry, I dont go on Wattpad like at all lol) But I know, the darkness of something doesn't make it not 'kid friendly' in fact, I think its more valuable to a child than anything.

Kids are young, and impressionable. It molds them and prepares them for the real world whether they know/like it or not.

But yes HHAW was blue sky, I was just talking about Dr.Suess movies in general. But I totally agree with you, minions was something I didn't even wonna see. It was milk money, and same with despicable me 3 tbh

But yeah Biggering definitely had some more humane parts in it. And Im not saying u cant explain bad things with visuals, like you said; you can. But just HOW they did it bugs the crap out of me.

Its why I see the 'once-ler' and 'greed-ler' as two separate people pretty much. Its hard to see them as one person, cuz how quickly he split, ya'know? It's prolly why oncest became a thing...

Its just in biggering their was SO much more story telling, in HBCIB it was predictable and inevitable. We knew what was happening, and what was going to happen.

Biggering, though we knew the ending results, still somehow kept it captive with out having to rely JUST on pretty colors and creative animation. It knew how to tell a tale of a struggle the Once-ler was going through, how he kept pushing through his doubts and regrets.

And the endings of both songs leave such a different taste in ur mouth. Like mentioned earlier, the ending of HBCIB, the "Nyheh heh" villain and all, ending was with so much fierce/wickedness.

But Biggering felt so much more impact-ful, like u said before, the feeling of it being too late as the 'awesome' guitar fades out over a empty foggy wasteland of his doing.

It really hammers home what he's doing. And he knows it, he's self aware, but in HBCIB he doesn't rly acknowledge that. Whether it was just his denial, or ignoring the problem, he didn't show any signs of remorse till he was backed in a corner.

Yeah like. Have they forgotten how freaking dark Courage the Cowardly Dog and Invader Zim were, just to name a few other dark kid's cartoons? Those two were sooo dark and creepy but still managed to be charmingly lighthearted!! And they're both still thought of and adored up till now, especially by the adults who grew up watching those shows as kids!

Once-ler's travelling madness was a beautiful gem ok.

I thought Horton Hears a Who was by BlueSky? Either way, with what they did with Minions kinda makes me doubt that they've learned, tbh. There's also the upcoming Despicable Me 3 in which I don't think I'm looking forward too so far, but idk.

YEAH YEAH, I felt that the pacing by the near-end of the movie felt unbelievably rushed too.

What I loved in the Biggering storyboard as well was that it also showed just how warped Oncer's perception is on making choices? Like he wanted to make peace with the Lorax, his old friend. But as soon as he saw that Lorax snobbed him (because he has every right to do so), while the general public adored him, he went for what decision he thinks would have more people "love" and "accept" him. Like that's one of the saddest things I painfully love about Oncer, and undoubtedly one of the most relatabe and human things about him. We all just want to be accepted, and sometimes we ignore the bitter truths and realities behind it all cuz it's what we think would keep us happy in the long run but it isn't.

Tbh I can see HBCIB, as only the song, still work? But there just has to be like, a few, if not a BUNCH of changes made to the animation. Like I believe you can still portray something dark with the visuals, while still having the tone sound upbeat and cheerful tbh. And that kind of juxtaposition would just make the whole thing feel even more wrong. (Ok holy shit I just might make my own animatic using HBCIB one of these days... definitely adding that to my to-do list.)

(And it's okay! And aww, my pleasure fam :D)
