Jhon Rey Balicoco

Born and raised in Toledo City, Cebu, I'm a dedicated educator with a profound passion for shaping young minds. My journey in education began at the University of the Visayas - Toledo City Campus in 2015, where I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education major in English, and completed my Master's Degree in English Teaching at Cebu Technological University - Main Campus in 2023, setting the stage for my lifelong commitment. After briefly exploring the finance sector, I  found my true calling as a teacher at General Climaco National High School in 2018, where I taught English to students of various grade levels during my first year in the field. The following year, I've been teaching Senior High School students in 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World, Creative Writing, Creative Nonfiction, Practical Research 1, and Reading & Writing. My teaching philosophy centers on data-driven instructions, inclusivity and 21st-century skills, empowering students reading proficiency and literacy through literature. Beyond the classroom, I also considered myself as a multifaceted individual with talents in singing, dancing, songwriting, graphic design, and more. I'm a licensed Professional Secondary Teacher in the Philippines, holding License Number 1643665. My journey stands as a testament to the transformative power of education and the profound impact for future generations.
