Paid story’s were okay because they legitimately helped the writers, but all this does is force people into premium. We shouldn’t let this stand on the app that’s suppose to be for the avid readers and struggling writers. All this does is drive both those groups away. So please sign this petition.

All right I’m pissed. Paid story’s are a legitimately good idea. It’s helps both writers and Wattpad earn money. But this? This whole offline reading system? This is bullhorns. We have been able to read every book in our library offline sense I first got the app, nearly half a decade ago. This new system exist solely to make people get wattpad premium and, at least as far as I know though I may be wrong, grants no benefit to the readers or the writers, only Wattpad. Allowing us to read offline cost nothing more then not having more people by premium. Wattpad has always been a place to go for books to read and loss yourself in the worlds painstakingly crafted by talented authors in the making, and a place for authors in the making to grow and enhance their skills while bringing joy to others. The second thing is the only reason I supported paid story’s even though I knew I’d never make a dime. It would help the rising and actually talented authors. I’ve recently started reading a lot on fanfic.net, I’m not going to there at the moment but there’s an ever growing chance I’ll switch over there. So that’s my rant. Sorry to bother every one. But as a last note, lets area fiftyone this business, but actually do something. If they get enough people hounding their doors they’ll pull it back. Wattpad, if you bother to listen to your users, your losing respect and fast.

TL;DR limited offline reading is garbage, and if wattpad keeps this up they might be too.
