Atique Miah

I have been writing poetry since primary school but I didn't realise I had a knack for it until people heard and read it. My teacher was so impressed with my poetry that I remember him asking me to read it out along with other pupils in my class. I was aged 7 at the time and this was my earliest memory of poetry. I hadn't thought much of it at the time. In secondary school, poetry became a very trying subject for me, and with too many restrictions and too many rules to learn, I soon came to the conclusion that poetry was not my scene!



Peoples' feedback is what spurred me on to carry on with poetry. I was inspired to write Poems of the Prophets because I really enjoyed reading the Stories of the Prophets and I wanted my children to enjoy the same. But with their literacy levels not quite to the same level as mine, I had to reword many passages to make them more child friendly. Soon I was making up a new book and now I am happy to say I have come up with this book thanks to the encouragement of so many people in my community.



The aim of this collection of poetry is that children and their parents will want to read about and engender a desire to learn more, from Islamic History beginning with the Greatest People to Ever walk this Earth- The Messengers of Allah. The traditional stories from the classic Qasas-Ul-Ambiya have been adapted to create this series.



Poetry makes learning fun and enjoyable for children, and adults to appreciate the Prophets of Allah. These stories are very motivating and perfect for bedtime reading.
