Ayy! To anyone who's wondering why my Escape From the Voidcano story is in limbo, it's partially because I've been really busy with college and work lately, so I haven't had much time to work on it. In fact, one of the classes I'm taking is Creative Writing! I'm strongly considering compiling all of the written works I made for that class and publishing them here on Wattpad, so there's something to look forward to!
Anyways, since taking a break from my story, I had time to reflect on it and I'm not satisfied with the direction it's going. I wanted to add an episodic "Choose Your Own Adventure" element to it, but it's turned out being very boring to write. Not only that but I have the foresight to realize I'd essentially be making a large portion of the novel skippable and redundant.
As some of you know, I also had plans to go beyond this novel with an Enter Sammy Space-Time remake among future sequels as well. In fact, I planned it all out quite thoroughly, but I think it's another situation where my ambitions were bigger than my desire to work on the current story. EFTV was supposed to have illustrations for each individual chapter but I kept putting those off. Also, even though nobody's complained about it, I think the religious themes were unnecessary despite my own worldview.
That said, I haven't given up on the Sammy Space-Time idea. I've even thought about an entirely different take on the story I could try instead. If I go that route, I believe some medium other than a Wattpad story would be better. After all, my main hub is YouTube, and it'd be great to cast a wider net! (As I said, though, I still have other plans for Wattpad.) I've also been advised in the past to make the concept less of a self-insert, which is how that Skylar Space-Time story came about. Anyways, I hope this makes sense, and I'm sorry to anyone who was looking forward to more chapters of Escape From the Voidcano!
