@strikezzz: I'm sorry your posts are just not showing up for me on my feed. I don't know what i'm doing.

There was no mention of the Floracat situation in any of the comments on Goldleaf's post I thought the situation was solely about the cat axolotl hybrids and the Floracat situation came after. I can't say why Goldleaf blocked Cat or if she was angry or not about Cat not making her a Floracat. I can see where it seems vindictive of Goldleaf from your point of view. From the way Cat described it and Goldleaf described it, it didn't really seem like a fight, but more of an awkward encounter. There's a real possibility Goldleaf blocked her out of embarrassment. She's been virtual schooled since she was 6 and, again, is learning social interaction through her autistic mother in addition to being neurodivergent herself. Her social skills are pretty rough. She really enjoys Cats art and may not have known how to handle the rejection appropriately. I'll see what I can do on my end to teach her better coping skills for situations like this, in case it was out of embarrassment or anger or something like that.

Floracats are not an original species by Cat. The concept of nature/flowers and cats being mixed together as well as the name "Floracat" has been around for years and has been done quite a few times. A quick google search found a DeviantArt post of Dahlia and Violet Floracats from 2013. There is a 2012 online game that features Floracats called Flight Rising (https://www1.flightrising.com/) that is still active today. That being said, if Goldleaf wants to make her own Floracats she can as long as she doesnt copy exactly what Cat has made. So no tracing, no adding tiny details to "make it her own", no recoloring and claiming it. It must be her own work and if would be courteous of her to credit Cat's work as inspiration since that is where she saw the idea of Floracats first.

Yes, I kinda agree, but although they have the same name, they look nothing alike. So, I think that Floracats ARE her original species, because they are unique and differ from many other “flower cat” species

@strikezzz I'm having trouble getting comments to open, but I saw your post in my notifications mentioning that my account is only 5 hours old and questioning in I was an alternate account for Goldleaf. The reason my account is only 5 hours old is because i'm an old lady from the days of Fanfiction.net, Quizilla, MySpace, and I still have an active Facebook account. I just don't read fanfiction anymore. I started the account this morning to make a response to this specific situation and will only be using it if I have to moderate something again. My instagram is blue_faline if you want to verify that i'm an adult and not a 9 year old.

@strikezzz Hi! Thank you for taking the time to message me. I don't recall commenting directly to a comment you made, but I've been nursing a headache all day. Which comment was it? I'm happy to hear out anyone's perspective.

To be clear, Goldleaf isn't a friend, she's my daughter.

Cat did let me know in another comment about that interaction. I can't say whether she saw Cat's cat axolotl hybrids before or after creating her own, I simply don't know the answer to that and won't presume one way or the other without having seen any evidence one way or the other. I don't sit and watch over her shoulder. I can say she did bring me her drawing of the hybrid in her journal on Sunday, if that helps the timeline at all. I hope this was a misunderstanding and not Goldleaf acting out of anger or jealousy, but only she knows that for sure.

With all that said cat axolotls are still not an original idea or creation by Cat and therefore she can't gatekeep their use (And somebody please correct me if i'm misgendering anybody.). Cat absolutely owns the copyright to her original characters and they can't be used without permission. I just double checked myself and have found a user on DeviantArt that posted their cat axolotl hybrid, that they called a Catatlotl, in 2012. Neither Cat nor Goldleaf should be claiming they created the cat axolotl hybrid. If Goldleaf did see Cat's cat axolotl art before creating her own she should have at least, as a courtesy, credited the inspiration to Cat, but is really under no obligation to do so since their hybrids don't look exactly alike. The only similarities I could find were the tails, but perhaps I just didn't see the right posts from Cat. I didn't see frilly gills on Cat's that were present on Goldleaf's, I didn't see fur on Goldleaf's that was present on Cat's, and it looked to me as if Cat's had cat paws where Goldleaf's had salamander feet.
