Chapter 10 of Melancholy is out now. It coincides with the start of season 3 when the Starcourt Mall is introduced. Sav is now a Starcourt Cinema employee and in store for a long, lonely summer. Or is she?

Cruel Summer was the original start of Sav’s story until I decided to flesh out more of a back story for her and honestly, I think it’s one of the better written ones that shows her becoming more central to the plot than she was during the season 2 chapters.

IT'S ALMOST OCTOBER FIRST!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I admit it. I've hardly written in the last few weeks. But I'm not going to get up close and personal here. I've got 25 chapters ready to go so keep an eye out on Saturday for the first one! I've been so excited to start publishing Savannah and Eddie's story and I really hope that those who read it enjoy reading it the way I enjoyed writing it.

Wow. October first is less than two weeks away. I'm getting so excited for Melancholy and can't wait to start publishing chapters! The current chapter count is around 25 and they take place during seasons 2 and 3. I'm not looking forward to rewatching season 4 (my fellow Eddie girls know why) but at the same time, I'm so excited about what is next for Savannah. The post below this one holds the description and an excerpt of the first chapter so check those out if you haven't already!

I did it. I jumped on the Stranger Things bandwagon. So naturally, I had a plot bunny hopping around that I needed to get out of my brain. Chapter 1 will be published on October 1st with updates every Saturday!

DESCRIPTION: Savannah, a student at Hawkins High, has spent most of her 17 years on the outskirts of socialization. An introvert being raised by her older sister Marnie, she didn't speak unless she had something to say, which was so rare that her peers assumed she was mute. Until one day when their neighbor Eddie Munson randomly starts coming around more.

AUTHOR NOTE: While there are plenty of scenes with the ST characters we know and love, Savannah isn't really a part of the main group until season 4. I originally started writing this because I wanted her to be a love interest for Billy. Then I started to entertain the idea of a side character who also knew something wasn't right in Hawkins but didn't know how to bridge the gap between herself and our main cast due to personal demons. And things just seemed to take off from there.

Feel free to check out the replies on this post for an excerpt of the first chapter!

EXCERPT: Savannah pulled the front door shut behind her and squinted from the sudden brightness. A group of middle and high school students was already at the mailboxes waiting on the school bus. Most of the older kids were too tired to talk much but the younger ones were having fun laughing and shoving each other over the trampled grass.

"What's going on? I'm diggin' the new 'do. " Eddie Munson greeted as she walked up. She shrugged her shoulders and leaned against the picnic table housed behind the mailboxes. Eddie was a few years older and lived down the lane just before the woods. They weren't friends but he did supply her with cigarettes since Marnie refused to buy them for her and he usually hung out at the sister's house when his uncle was away. He was probably the only other person she felt at ease with enough to utter a few words around.

As much as she could use one before school started, she declined as he held his squished pack of Marlboros out to her. She pointed to the outer pocket of her backpack to indicate that she still had some in the pack he got her last week. The bus appeared in the distance.

The kids all filed in and Savannah took the first seat behind the driver, quickly being blocked in by Eddie. She felt a huge wave of gratitude for this. No one messed with her while Eddie was around. He pulled his headphones and walkman out of his beat-up backpack and immediately started bobbing his head in time with the music. There were only three other stops between Forest Hills and Hawkins High so they got there fairly quickly and Savannah's day was back on track.

"Later lady!" Eddie called over his shoulder as he caught sight of his friends. Savannah gave him a quick wave and started walking toward the front doors...

Why do I keep getting notifications that others are mentioning me in their posts, but my username is no where and it has nothing to do with me? Is this a new thing Watty is doing?

Also, I took down what I published the other night. I'm working on something new though. Hoping to have a few chapters out by the end of September so stay tuned. :)

I'm in a really dark place lately. I've recently come to terms with a few things and am having trouble getting out of the ditch they put me in. I want to write but I find it so hard to sit and do anything remotely close to writing. I'm going to try forcing myself to edit some things and maybe finish MM. Especially since I know people have been leaving comments and sending messages asking for MM to be finished. And I know I can do that now that There's another F&F movie out and I can clearly see Eve's story progressing well. Like I said, I'm going to try. Much Love to followers old and new. - B

Ya'll I'm trying. I just... Can't. I've had half a dozen messages this week alone about finishing MM. It's all there in my head, I just lack the motivation to actually write it down. I even have the next part of the Eve and Tej saga in my head, Perpetual Pessimist. I'm just so uninspired and need to find a new muse. I'm sorry.
