Encourage the writers whose stories you love, encourage the ones who show promise but haven't quite gotten there yet, encourage those who struggle but don't want to give up because they love to write. If you keep the pathways open for them, you never know how far they will make it.


My advice to writers: If you want people to read your stories, start by writing what YOU LOVE, not what you think is going to get "all the reads". If you don't love it, it shows in the writing and your quality will suffer. If you love it, you will put more effort and emotion into the story and readers will see/feel that. 

Maybe not all of them will love what you write, but the ones who do will keep coming back as long as you have something to share with them and those are the ones who will become your fanbase, the ones who want to see what is next and check out the other stories you have written/are writing/will write. So write what you love and love what you write.

I'm not saying your writing has to be perfect, as my own writing has plenty of room to improve. Don't just look at your story and scour for grammatical perfection or focus solely on spelling and punctuation. These things do not make a story great, although they can make a great story more readable. It is your ideas, your dreams, your thoughts and your efforts that ultimately make up the stories most people want to read.
