Thank you so much for your encouraging comments on Gotcha! They are so helpful! Do you plan on publishing something yourself? When you do, I'll be glad to read it. Thanks again!

CarissaRuth

@CloudNineShine Aw thanks hun & you're welcome! My musings were just a by product of your writing xD I wanted to submit for the contest that had just passed, but I wasn't able to finish it. I'll post it here anyway when I've completed it and will be sure to mention it, thanks for the support :)

Thanks so much for the follow! I adore classic literature (love Dickens too!) and I wonder what your favorite classic books are. It's nice to meet you. ♡

@spacethyme waah that's so interesting. I feel like your language is steeped, changed and transformed with history. It's much more fun than Standard Arabic hahhah xD I get what you mean with dialects. There are tons of it back home. We even have a province that speak a Spanish creole dialect because the country spent quite a while under spanish rule.

@CarissaRuth It isn't at all, and even though English is a mandatory subject throughout the twelve years of education, one still needs loads of practice, so a big thank you to English literature and the internet for giving me this chance.

Egyptian Arabic is different; its vocabulary mostly consists of Arabic words which are pronounced differently, words which no one is sure where they were derived from, as well as words of French, Italian, Turkish, English and even Coptic and Ancient Egyptian origins. The grammar as well has slight changes, like if in Standard Arabic we say, "how are you?" in Egyptian Arabic we say, "You are how?" Or "what does this mean?" and "this means what?" haha. I have heard that this was the same way questions were formed in the Ancient Egyptian language.

There are also several distinctive sub-dialects all over Egypt. For example, people living in upper Egypt don't speak the same way as the people living in the Nile Delta like myself, or the people living on the coast of the Mediterranean.

            *unsheathes sword dramatically* XD

I'll try to read Austen asap, but school is drastically consuming both my time and energy. Once I have found free time, I'll get to reading Northanger. :) ♡

@spacethyme it's always harder to learn another language when the grammar is different from your language and all the more when you're not around people who usually speak it. Some words from my first language are very similar to French, which made me learn faster than others but I don't study it x) so kudos to you :) Is Egyptian Arabic different from regular Arabic? it's funny cause the french here in Canada is different from the French in France. I heard the grammar and base vocabulary is the same but there are quite a few differences in accent and words people use. Is it the same way for you or is it more of a dialect thing?

I think Joan of Arc came closest to being a knight, but there are no female knights historically right? But Lol! keep that spirit and dream alive. You're all the more awesome wishing for it. Why not? xD

I am currently reading Game of Thrones atm and I only read it during my travel to and from work so it might take me a bit before I get started with Chesterton, but I'll definitely tell you when I do. I need someone to talk about it hahhah xD I hope you get to reading Austen as well when you have free time :)

@DarkFandoms No, not yet. I purchased a thick volume with all the Sherlock stories & it looks damned intimidating lol. Purchased it out of love for the BBC show & I was expanding into reading other genres. It's in my shelf waiting for me to read it. Have you? :) I tried reading 'The Hound of Baskervilles' when I was young but I wasn't into reading for leisure then. The words were too advanced for me
