My profile. Ah...How can you sum up a life in 2000 words?

I've lived most of my life in the Midwest. I grew up in Indiana where I learned to ride horses, skip school, and escape into the world of books. I loved the Black Stallion series and read every book in my school library. At around the age of fourteen, I fell in love with writing after reading My Friend Flicka. I didn't know it then, but my course was set. Words were in my veins. My parents divorced when I was seventeen. I graduated high school, married my childhood sweetheart, and went to work in a factory. College was not an option.

Fast forward ten years and three wonderful children. I went through a painful divorce and went to work in another factory to support myself and those three kids. On my way to work one day, I passed my children's school bus - they were coming home (to a babysitter) as I made my way to work. At that moment, I vowed to go to college and get a job where I could work during the day and be home with my kids at night. And so I did.

I took every writing and literature class that I could, majoring in English (Creative Writing & American Literature). I went on to get a Masters degree, remarry, and leave that factory. Now, I live on a lake and write full-time in my empty nest. Through all of the ups and downs, the one thing that has remained is my love of writing and the written word. I write full time and count my many blessings daily.
