I started my very first written work when I was in the second grade. I grew up in a very small town. Unable to get my hands on new comic books, I decided to write my own. It centered around a hero who could become a living tornado. My mother encouraged it and being naïve about my poor skills as an artist, I couldn't wait to show it to my friends. Fortunately, they were just as starved for new comics as I was, and they actually gave it a chance. I never forgot that sense of pride I felt when someone read a copy from cover to cover. Looking back, It couldn't have been easy, suffering bad art drawn on loose-leaf writing paper.

I got my next fix in middle school when my uncle introduced me to the "Forgotten Realms" dungeons and dragons setting. I poured over game manuals for hours and hours. I couldn't get enough of the stories of that fantastic world, and again, couldn't wait to show my friends.

After exhausting an entire box set storyline in only three days, I had to come up with more dangers and villains for my friends to overcome. Over the years, I created lots of fun stories with my friends that are still brought up fifteen years later.

In high school I wrote a fake journal so moving, my teacher actually held me after class and, with tears in her eyes, offered to help me move out of my nightmarish foster home. I'm not adopted, and my upbringing was as far from nightmarish, but writing a journal about how I spent time with the church's youth group just seemed too boring. 

My writing seemed to have stopped around the time of my graduation. With a lot of support and encouragement, I decided to take up writing again. At the heart of it all, I aim to please. If you have time, I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
