Craig J. Heimbuch is an award-winning author and journalist, best-selling ghostwriter, husband of one and father of three. He writes stories about adventure and travel, whether through his adult non-fiction or fiction stories for younger readers, and knows no greater joy than setting out for parts unknown with a thirst for discovery and a passion for new experiences. He is the recipient of the Best Non-Fiction Award from the Great Lakes Booksellers Association for his first book, "Chasing Oliver Hazard Perry" as well as several awards for his in-depth and feature writing from his time as a newspaper and magazine writer. "The first book I ever read on purpose was 'Hatchet' by Gary Paulsen," he once said. "I fell in love with how reading can take you to places no other experience can." He's been described as "exactly what American travel writing needs" by former Esquire editor Will Blythe and Publisher's Weekly described his writing as "sometimes funny, sometimes bittersweet, and always well-paced adventures." His newest work, The Adventure Series, are character-driven adventure books for younger readers (8-13) in the spirit of Gary Paulsen and Goosebumps.
