Tell your story and enter the Dallas Teens Write flash fiction contest, part of the Dallas Public Library's Mayor's Summer Reading Program.

The challenge:
Write a flash fiction of 500 words or less with the theme "reading". For example, the story might be about a lonely lighthouse keeper who only has her books for company or maybe a student who discovers a new author and will do anything to meet him. If you like, the story can be a fanfic about one of your favorite book characters, shows, or movies, just be sure reading is a part of the story.

The reward:
Each post that meets the criteria receives one entry into the Grand Prize drawing.

To participate:
Post the story to your Wattpad account and use the hashtag #dallasLIBteens from June 4th - July 30th.

Deadline:
All entries must be posted by July 30th, 11:59 Central Standard Time.

The rules/guidelines:
Each post equals one (1) entry into the grand prize drawing. Participants may enter two (2) stories during the eight week entry period. The winners will be notified via a direct message asking the user to contact the library within two weeks at askalibrarian@dallaslibrary.org or calling 214-670-1400. To qualify for the grand prize, participants must be age 13-18 and able to pick up the prize at any of our 29 Dallas Public Library locations. Stories may be submitted in any language. Stories must be original work written by the author submitting it. Dallas Public Library reserves the right to deem any story as inappropriate and disqualify it. By participating in the contest you give Dallas Public Library the right to use and display your stories in any manner it chooses.
