Hello, it's been a long while since I have been on here. I just wanted to check in and see if you, my writing friend still are writing. I see that you have. I can’t wait to read more of your book. I hope you are still around. And yes, I am back to my writing. This time, it’s even better. Thanks to my 2 beautiful little monsters. Ha! Hope life has been treating you well.

@SimplyObliterated Hey there! Sorry it took a while to get back to you. I am still writing, but I haven't been very active on Wattpad lately. I've been working more on getting short stories in magazines and anthologies. The past couple of years has been stressful, but I've been pretty good throughout it. Happy to hear your back at writing!

I really enjoyed your story Mr. 8 the plot twist at the end was totally unexpected! I love how it was foreshadowed throughout the story ever so slightly! All in all, brilliantly done! I cannot wait to read more of your work! I think I'll check out more when I get a few more chapters of the story I'm working on completed.

@JamesHoppe3 Thank you very much! Sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you, but I took a bit of a break from Wattpad. I truly appreciate you taking the time to let me know you enjoyed Mr. 8 that is an amazingly nice thing to do! Best of luck with your own writing!

@d4ftre Thank you so much! I'm happy you're enjoying it. Right now Mr. 8 is the only story I have like this. But it's hard to say what the future will bring.

Hi! Happy New Year! May I just say, I love your work, Mr. 8. It's reading these stories that made me want to make mystery stories myself. I was wondering if I could ask a few questions? I've been having trouble thinking of new things to add for my story.

JRM2599

@JRM2599 Oh I see, makes more sense that way. Thanks a lot! May you have a prosperous 2021!

@JRM2599 I would say it would depend on the tone you are trying to achieve. A grittier, closer to reality story is going to need more research to give it authenticity. But if it's a bit more fanciful or if the focus is less on the police work, you can go the more imaginative route. For MR. 8, I tried to research anything to do with the police and their process, equipment, etc. (For example, I remember looking up how many officers a small town would likely have and what they'd use for side arms). But I didn't worry about every detail either. There's lots of supernatural elements and Denton is not a trained officer, so it allowed me some liberties a police procedural story wouldn't.

@JRM2599 should I be researching and learning about certain things before making a story? Let's say, it's about a murder story and a detective comes and solves it. Should I read stuff about how crimes are solved in order to get a bettee understanding and make my story seem realistic? Or does simply imagining things do the trick?

Happy Saturday!

I hope all of you are keeping well and doing whatever is necessary for your mental wellbeing. 2020 has been a tough year for a lot of us, and I know that the holiday season can be hard on it's own without a pandemic.

I just wanted to drop a note and apologize for the lack of updates on The Eternal Guest. November hit me like a sock full of pennies, and what was supposed to be a one week break to work on a short story turned into a 6 week slow crawl through the rough draft. But I am writing the next chapter now and hope to have it up sometime in the coming week.

          Keep well!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I have just posted chapter 4 of my gothic horror story, The Eternal Guest.

If you're looking for a Halloween read or if you are enjoying The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix (I know I did), this story might be just the thing for you. Its a slow creepy tale containing a gloomy manor house, a sinister doctor, and a mysterious woman in the woods.

If you are reading or decide to read, I will be posting chapter 5 on Halloween.
