Also, manny people with deression feel like they shouldnt be "complaining" because they beleive others have it worse and therefore never speak up when they need help. Now, while it may seem that others have it "worse" it doesnt mean that you or your problems matter any less!
          Ofcourse it doesnt help when you got people who do say they have it worse than others -____-  Or when they turn the tabels andake it all about them when someone tries talking to them abouth theor own problems. I have a family memeber who does this so i know what its like.

I often find that when people are feeling down or even have depression and theybtell someone, peoples response is usually "it could be worse" 
          This is NOT something ypu should tell somebody especialy if they are depressed.
          It makes the person feel misunderstood.

If you feel an even stronger urge to self-harm, try the following harm minimisation tips:
          
          Use a red felt tip pen to mark where you might usually cut
          
          Hit pillows or cushions, or have a good scream into a pillow or cushion to vent anger and frustration
          
          Rub ice across your skin where you might usually cut, or hold an ice-cube in the crook of your arm or leg
          
          Put elastic bands on wrists, arms or legs and flick them instead of cutting or hitting
          
          Have a cold bath or shower

@Cats_are_magical I forgot to add something, if u have a need to see the blood, as some people do, you can use red food dye. You can even add it to your ice cubes!
