I'm not someone who easily sheds tears, but when I become overwhelmed, it's the easiest thing for me to do. "Begin ≠ Youth" had me in tears in every episode for multiple reasons. One reason is obviously my fondness for the HYYH fiction and how I could see glimpses of our boys in the characters, their traumatic stories, their strong bond despite all the hardships, and their demonstration of the power of platonic bonds, which the Tannies taught me so well. While watching them, I couldn't help but think about my friends from school whom I miss spending time with and luckily we never grew apart. And now I'm on the edge of losing my everyday company with my university friends as my finals approach. Those who were once close will be farther away, and those who were distant will be even more so. It's a normal part of growing up, but we shine differently in the presence of our people—those with whom we can freely say or do whatever we want. I think this show is hitting me in all the right places. This year has been challenging, but at least I have friends, Tannies, and a few genuine people like some of you, for whom I am incredibly grateful. (Please don't mind my rant, I shared in case some of you might feel the same as me.)
