Hi. After a year or more's stabbing at the keyboard and a looong absence from Wattpad , I've re-written and revised a story I wrote waaay back in 2001.

It's called "Tup". Tup, short for Fuck'Tup, is a Brazilian kid that lives half-on, half-off the street. His story is based on the real-life stories told by kids living in a shelter in São Paulo.

          	Here's the blurb...

All men are created equal. Really?
Whoever said that never met Tup and his friends.
Based on real-life and set amidst the drugs, the violence and the eccentric characters on the vibrant but disturbed streets of the biggest city in Brazil, this is the tragicomic story of Leighton, a dysfunctional kid from a dysfunctional family doing his best to get along in a dysfunctional world.

I've put up 20 chapters on Wattpad, and the rest is available on Smashwords for $2.99. However, if you're interested and message me I'll give you a free voucher!

          	Thanks... Happy reading and writing!

No problem. It was nice to read. Its amazing how much punch can be packed into a few words! Im not usually a fan of poetry, but this short (wikipedia tells me its not all haiku) stuff is quite interesting. Kind of wordplay. Makes you think. The one about killing kids has left me feeling guilty!

My stuff? On my profile page I guess... Ive got 3 wips, and a finished novel (Sworn, supernatural thriller) but I only put some on the site. Its free on smashwords to anyone who asks. Then theres a zombie book (with no zombies) set in a mental hospital Im devoting all my time to at the mo (OK, Im jumping on the band wagon, but its for adults, not kids, and adults as in grown up thinkers, not adult as in gore and sex). And another ghosty type thriller about a cop who sees his dead daughter, and a book about Brazilian street kids, based on real life stories of real kids - I did some voluntary work in a shelter for drug-addicted street kids. I finished it 12 years ago, but it needs a total re-write. I put a couple of chapters on here to see if it drummed up any interest (no).

Thanks. Keep me posted on your poems.

Thanks for the reply. Understood. Its a great site, but seems rather flawed in that aspect... I get the impression trading happens rather a lot. How can you know whether a vote is traded or given because both parties liked each others work? And how do you know if a vote is for "the work" as an entirety, or just for the particular page of it that the voter read? I'm new here, and still rather confused about how it all works, how to get reads and votes and comments, but after surfing a while it seems a lot of shaky stuff gets a lot of votes... either that or I've got "old" tastes! hehehe I just saw one work that had 12 million reads, yet only one million started/read the first chapter and 68k reached the last... Dan Browns Lost Symbol only printed something like 5 million copies... So where does the 12 million come from? It seems a little weird it get so much interest without being snapped up by a publisher and an guaranteed instant worldwide bestseller! I guess my question is, what does the 12 million actually mean?

@Drewps_Kovacs - if you want to share your work, you can do it in the specific Share Threads. These are located in each of the genre clubs and are located at the top of each of the discussion boards. I think I saw you post in one of them. 'Pinned' means that it's permanently fixed to the top of the board. Guidelines are also pinned there and these vary a little from club to club.

Posting your advert in the available comment box at the end of the thread is absolutely right and you're allowed on ad a week. The thread is refreshed usually on a Monday depending on which Moderators are around.

All other discussions rise and fall depending on user interaction. Ones that are commented on rise, unused ones fall.

There are a few things you're not allowed to do, like trade votes with other users, but apart from that, go for it.

          Hope that clarifies things. Gav
