Life update.

I think I am having a crush on that young pharaoh in “Night at the Museum” again and now I am thinking about a sequel to “If this was a Movie”. Like, maybe Cara (the main character of “If this was a Movie”) could end up being with a 4000-year-old mummy and then she becomes a mummy herself and thus became immortal—

Just thinking; I’m obsessed with Queen recently. Last but not the least, Rami Malek is amazing in Bohemian Rhapsody (as well as in “Night at the Museum (1-3)”).

          	Yeet.

Hey guys, life update.

It has been 2 months since I started studying abroad in England and, as you have noticed, I have not yet uploaded a new chapter in “The Bride of the Sun”. College life has been hectic and still I am adjusting myself into it, as this is my first time studying in England. Here I would like to apologise for not uploading anything for all you anticipated readers.

Currently, I have a terrible writer’s block of how should my plot route go, since there are several storylines for it now and I just don’t really know which one I would like to go for. I don’t want my story to be “just another story better than Twilight” (Oh well, I watched a movie summary of the final movie briefly just for the sake of looking at Egyptian vampire called Benjamin— I MEAN— HE IS SO CUTE I CANT— ALSO GUYS YOU SHOULD WATCH BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY ITS AMAZING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA), thus still I am figuring out the plot (meanwhile counting down to the trip to the place where “Night at the Museum 3” was taken place).

I hope I could seek it out as soon as possible and hopefully the next chapter will be published in the following weeks.

Ciao. *rolls back into her physics homework*

Chinese people names advice:

Basically, a Chinese name consists of 2 to 4 characters, one surname (usually one character, yet some surnames such as Ouyang (歐陽) have two characters) and one given name (1-2 characters). Take the name Ouyang Xiu (歐陽修, a famous Chinese official who lived in the Song Dynasty) as an example, his surname is Ouyang which is a so-called a “compound surname” (複姓), while his given name is Xiu, just “Xiu”.

In addition, romanised transcriptions of Chinese names in ID cards would vary depending on the pronunciation of the name according to the person’s native language. This is why Chinese people with the surname “Lee”, “Li”, “Lei” on the ID card may share the same surname since their names are romanised in different pronunciations. People from different regions have different Chinese dialects; for example, people from the southern part of China (notably Hong Kong and Macau) have Cantonese as their native language. Thus, the romanised transcript of the Chinese names in identity cards will be (more likely to be) in Cantonese pronunciations (such as the most people in Hong Kong with the surname “陳”, are transcribed into “Chan” instead of “Chen” in their identity cards).

English names have been a trend among people in the Chinese community for decades, yet, for the English names, that will be a different story...

That is the end of my advice, hope this helps!

@heidi_khaled yeah, it’s fun to learn Chinese actually, especially when you found out that a Chinese character could be made into a form of art XD

@Ingrid15501 i didn't even know that one chineese character stands for a surname, i thought that as each character stands for one letter of the surname only- let aside the other information you mentioned. I always thought this language is difficult but sounds funnn

A short Rant about Chinese Names:

Hey, truthfully, if you guys wanted to do Chinese names, please, and PLEASE, get some knowledge of the Chinese language? At least learning about the background of the language and the naming customs in the Chinese community.

As an ex-Hetalia fan and a native speaker of Chinese (Cantonese), I’ve seen some people tried to give names to personified Chinese personified regions in Hetalia (notably Hong Kong, Fem! Hong Kong, 2P! Hong Kong and 2P! Fem! Hong Kong, also Macau and Fem! Macau) and I may say they were total disasters. Like, (Dear diary) whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (god whyyyyy)? I’ve seen people calling Hong Kong “Li Xiaochun” and WHY TF you name him in Mandarin Chinese and call his Chinese name instead for his English name (like Leon, Horace, et cetera) in fics?! (Me: *triggered*)
Also, the fan-made names for the personified special administrative regions made by the westerners have been a laughing stock between me and my anime friends. Like, “Mo Lei” which is 2P! Fem! Hong Kong’s name on a Tumblr page... I think the guy wanted to name her “Jasmine” in Chinese but tbh the name sounded like literally, and “literally” nonsense and unreasonable because it really sounds like “unreasonable” or “gross profit” in Cantonese (supposed the character should be using Cantonese as their first language because most people in Hong Kong speaks Cantonese). Unless that is a Hongkongese sitcom character, who the freaking hell in Hong Kong would name a girl after a financial term?!

Glad that I left the Hetalia fandom for 9 months now and I don’t need to face those cringe anymore... but still I need to place a rant about this issue since I am rather concerned about this.

Dear readers,

Thanks for enjoying my stories on Wattpad. Now I would like to announce something :

I’m here to tell you that “If this was a Movie” will be the last Hetalia fanfiction that I would (maybe ever) write. After that, I would stop my fanfiction business and write original stories on Wattpad.

I’m so glad to see you putting my Hetalia fanfics into your reading lists or voting for them. Well... Here I would like to apologise for not continuing my other fanfics except the one I mentioned above.

Alright. I think that’s all for the fanfiction thingy. Now I’m going to present my future plans.

Firstly, I’m starting a new series called “In My Life”. This is a series about the adventures of Ingrid Chan, a teenage girl from Hong Kong, China. Currently I’m working on the first book (maybe prequel) “If this was a Movie (revised version)” and the second book “The Bride of the Sun”. I would consider about the future books of this series after finishing the second book.

Secondly, regarding to “If this was a Movie”, the revised edition of this story will reduce its fanfiction-ness in order to broaden the audience target. Currently I am targeting for the general audience instead of only people in the fandom. Somehow, I would still put Hetalia into that version but I’m (trying) to make the story not looking like a fanfiction.

Lastly, I would change the name of this account since I’m now trying to get more audiences for my books. Previous fanfiction works (except “If this was a Movie”) will be moved to another account. “Hetalia Shorts” will be still available here but I would change its name into “Random oneshots” as I might write spinoffs for my stories.

I think that’s all I would like to say here. Last but not least, if you like my books, vote for it and spread it to your friends and family (if you can). Truthfully, I have really wish to see more people reading my books.

I’m grateful to put my ideas here in Wattpad.

          Yours faithfully,
          Ingrid.
