It's funny how things can change as time goes on. 

People move onto bigger and better things. Hearts get broke, and get mended back together. The simple things become the comforts and 9pm becomes bedtime. The boy you thought you'd spend your life with is suddenly miles away, and no longer looks at you like he did before. And as much as it hurts, you're okay with it. 

Friends become few, but those few are so precious. Hold them close. When things get hard, those dearest will stand out. Even being alone isn't always the worst thing in the world. It's not, really. 

Children grow up, and the little boy that would need you to help nudge him up the stairs to find his victory at the top step, is suddenly walking into the school gates without a glance behind. But it's okay. He still needs cuddles on those cold, early mornings. 

Things are good. They always get better, it sometimes just takes a few moments.  It's always worth stopping, looking outside and taking a deep breath. Scars fade. Hearts mend. Flowers bloom.
