Our 2nd round of Gems Book Club is out and we have two fantastic works featured this month 'A Bartender's Guide to Paying it Forward' by @MarCafeWrites and '40 Days in the Desert' by @amoreodiamanti !

I'm very much looking forward to reading them. If you have some time to spare in the next 25 or so days, check out these amazing stories, log your reading in the club and you will likely have the opportunity to be featured as well. We're a small group and it'd be wonderful to have more books to feature.

Gems recommendation for 'A Bartender's Guide to Paying it Forward':
'Bartender's Guide' is a truly unique work on Wattpad: It follows protagonist Tate's experiences in his day-to-day life as a bartender, taking readers on a calm but incredibly satisfying journey full of retro music, elaborate drinks and fascinating patrons who make up an amazingly colourful cast of characters. Especially well done is Tate's bond with the mysterious K, a patron he happened to fall for right before her departure to Scotland and whose absence-slash-presence profoundly influences the plot, though Tate's interactions with each character are memorable in their own right!

I also love this story for its excellent autism representation: Tate is a wonderful three-dimensional protagonist whose neurodiversity is very much present, but his character is simultaneously so much more than just his autism. It's rare to get proper autism rep, let alone in an adult character, and that, in addition to being a delightfully refreshing work in general, makes this tale more than worthy of being promoted here in my eyes!

So if you want to read a quality work that's guaranteed to be different from everything you've read on Wattpad before, give 'Bartender's Guide' some love!

Our first Gems Book Club featured story is #WitchcraftWednesday by the talented @bigfivedonaldduckfan ! It's a gripping and hilarious contemporary magical tale that you shouldn't miss :)

Check out the Gems recommendation: There's nothing I love so much as a unique story that breaks the mold of the overdone and cliché cookie-cutter tropes. For anyone who has similar taste regarding modern literature, I cannot recommend "Witchcraft Wednesday" by AJ enough! This book has it all: adventure, high stakes, unlikely friendships, villains not to be crossed, humor, and magic!

The characters are beautifully complex and flawed in ways that make you feel like they are real human beings. You see yourself in them, you feel their struggles, you find yourself rooting for them, and you can't help but ask yourself what you would do in their shoes. AJ's book makes you *feel* things — and isn't that the true mark of a great writer? This book is a fabulous hidden gem. Not to be missed!

This story also made the Wattys shortlist for 2024! Show this fantastic tale some love and feel free to log your reading in the Gems Book Club for the chance to be one of the featured stories next month!

We're hosting a new book club at FBE, the 'Gems Book Club'. It's more of a monthly reading club that features two books a month and allows us to support the stories of writers featured in 'Read These Gems' as well as the Gems club members. Members read and comment on however many chapters they can of the two books of the month and get entered in a draw to be featured the following month.

Feel free to check it out, and if you have the time to join we'd love to see you there. The deadlines will be offset with FBE, so you're welcome to join both (Gems will have a 15th deadline while FBE will remain 1st of the following month).

@Flexiblebookexchange okay thank you so much! I just wanna make it way shorter because my friend told me it’s too much information. XD

@c4Luna Yes, if it's just the summary, then please post the updated one as a reply to your initial form, and it's easy for me to switch it. If you had more changes than that, the new form may be easier.

@Flexiblebookexchange hi, can I ask if I can edit my summary? And redo the form I posted on newcomers sign up section?
